Kawneer Launches IR 521 / 521T / 521 UT

ATLANTA (November 12, 2024) – Kawneer is proud to announce a new product in its storefront framing product portfolio with the introduction of the IR 521 / 521T / 521UT Storefront System. Kawneer’s first pre-glazed, impact-rated storefront system, the IR 521 combines thinner sightlines and ultra-thermal capabilities with Missile Level D and Level E impact protection. The new IR 521 / 521T / 521UT Storefront Framing System leads the way for hurricane protection, aesthetics and thermal performance.

Precision-engineered for superior aesthetics, versatile design and configuration options, the pre-glazed IR 521 / 521T / 521UT Storefront Framing System features flexible fabrication and easy installation. The units can be completely fabricated and glazed in the shop, minimizing job-site costs while maximizing project control and installation quality. The center plane glass application, simple extrusion profiles and pre-glazed members, which can be inside or outside glazed, help make this system ideal for delivering on-time installations.

The IR 521 / 521T / 521UT Storefront Framing System is hurricane impact-tested against windborne debris with Florida Product Approval (FPA) and Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) evaluations, demonstrating superior protection while enhancing long-term value and providing occupant safety. Kawneer’s thermal break technology on the impact-resistant (IR) 521 / 521T / 521UT Storefront Framing System provides ultimate occupant comfort and minimizes operational costs, with non-thermal, thermal (T) and ultra-thermal (UT) options available.
