Chicago, Illinois, USA
Built of Indiana limestone over a concrete and steel framework, the Montgomery Ward Building of Northwestern University incorporates many modernized Gothic-style features. The university wanted to upgrade the original wood windows with a high-performing thermal solution that required less maintenance and would retain the historic appearance of the building. Kawneer thermal windows offered an ideal solution to protect the occupants from the extreme Chicago winters while providing ample light and air.
