Several green components were used during the San Jose Public Library construction, such as low-E glazing and wall and roof insulation. An Energy Star-rated cool roof was installed to reduce energy use. The fins at the curved glass, louvers devices and awnings help keep the building cool during the summer. The construction process used recyclable materials such as aluminum panels, steel structures and carpeting.
The San José Public Library – Cambrian Branch project features Kawneer’s 1600UT System™1 Curtain Wall, Trifab® VersaGlaze® 451/451T Framing System, Versoleil® SunShade – Outrigger System – for Curtain Wall and Standard Entrances.
